Babe is a slang term of endearment. Merriam-Webster states that the word is of Middle English origin, and the first recorded use was in the 14th century. The term may also refer to:
Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. (December 31, 1943 – October 12, 1997), known professionally as John Denver, was an American singer-songwriter, actor, activist and humanitarian, whose greatest commercial success was as a solo singer, starting in the 1970s. He was one of the most popular acoustic artists of the decade and one of its best-selling artists. By 1974, he was firmly established as America's best-selling performer, and AllMusic has described Denver as "among the most beloved entertainers of his era". After traveling and living in numerous locations while growing up in his military family, Denver began his music career in folk music groups in the late 1960s. Throughout his life, Denver recorded and released approximately 300 songs, about 200 of which he composed, with total sales of over 33 million.
He recorded and performed primarily with an acoustic guitar and sang about his joy in nature, his enthusiasm for music, and his relationship trials. Denver's music appeared on a variety of charts, including country and western, the Billboard Hot 100, and adult contemporary, in all earning him twelve gold and four platinum albums with his signature songs "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Annie's Song", "Rocky Mountain High", "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", and "Sunshine on My Shoulders".
"Leaving on a Jet Plane" is a song written by John Denver in 1966 and most famously recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary. The original title of the song was "Babe, I Hate to Go" but Denver's then producer Milt Okun convinced him to change the title.
The song was initially recorded in 1966 by John Denver with the title "Babe, I Hate to Go." That same year, Denver chose this song along with fifteen others and, with his own money, had 250 copies pressed onto vinyl. He distributed the copies to friends and family. Peter, Paul and Mary were so impressed with the song that they chose to record it themselves and released it on their 1967 Album 1700. Notably, it didn't become a hit for them until they released it as a single in 1969.
The song was also recorded in 1967 by the Chad Mitchell Trio and then later that same year by Spanky and Our Gang. It was performed for the very first time live at The Cellar Door in Washington, D.C. in 1966 by the Chad Mitchell Trio, with John Denver substituting for Chad Mitchell.
Je t’aime (a French phrase meaning "I love you") may refer to:
Helios Airways was a low-cost Cypriot airline operating scheduled and charter flights between Cyprus and many European and African destinations. It had its corporate headquarters on the grounds of Larnaca International Airport in Larnaca. Its main base was Larnaca International Airport. The airline was established as Helios Airways on 23 September 1998 and was the first independent privately owned airline in Cyprus. On 15 May 2000, it operated its first charter flight to London Gatwick. It was formed by the owners of TEA (Cyprus), a Cypriot offshore air operator specialising in Boeing 737 wet leases worldwide. Originally, it offered charter services and scheduled services to Athens, London Luton Airport, Manchester, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Prague, Sofia, Bournemouth, Cairo, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Dublin and Warsaw on 5 April 2001. Well I wrote my girl a letter and I sent the thing federal express
Yeah I wrote my babe a letter and I sent the thing federal express
I sent it straight down to hell now ¡®'cause that's my baby's address.
I sat down to write it but for words I was at a loss
Yeah I sat down to write it but for words I was at a loss
Here's what I wrote I hope you think I got my point across
I told her bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
See you later
Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
Well adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, sayonara, bye-bye
(bitch)
She called me on the phone and asked me could we meet to work it out
Yeah, she called me on the phone and asked me could we meet and work it out
You know I gladly met the girl just so I could have the chance to shout
And tell her bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
See you later
Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
Well adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, sayonara, bye-bye
She came in to meet me she was walking across the room
Yeah, she came in to meet me she was walking across the room
I was surprised she could make it without a hat and broom
She sat down beside me and she asked me ¡°pretty baby, what's wrong¡±
And I fucking hate it when she called me that
So I went home and wrote this song
I told her bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
See you later
Bye bye bye bye bye bye bye good-bye
Well adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, sayonara, bye-bye
I told her bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-buh-bye
Bye bye bye bye good bye
Well adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, sayonara
